Russell Haynes

Holston Hall was founded by Russell Haynes. He grew up surrounded by horses and was very fortunate to learn all aspects of the racing business growing up on his family’s farm working from the ground up. His parents were active in breeding and racing. His father the late Bruce Haynes was a very successful trainer of steeplechase horses. His most notable horse was Rowdy Irishman whom he purchased for fifteen hundred dollars before he went on to win the Breeders’ Cup steeplechase twice and became one of steeplechasing’s all-time leading horses. Russell became a steeplechase jockey when he was old enough to obtain his jockey’s license. As of late he has been working successfully as bloodstock agent purchasing horses for clients around the world. With the knowledge he learned growing up learning from his father and his years of experience as a bloodstock agent Russell has an eye for a good horse and value that has already brought success to many of his clients and he hopes it will also serve the partners of Holston Hall quite well in the years to come. The steeplechase horses of Holston Hall will also be trained by Russell. In his first year as a licensed trainer he campaigned Hot Rize to win the prestigious Virginia Gold Cup and to clinch the title of Champion Timber horse in the country. It is his goal to maintain the highest standards in honesty and integrity and ultimately make sure “The Legacy Continues…”
